Australia Visa Rules for Indian Students

A combination of courses, including Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates, one year bachelor PLUS one-year master, and two 1-year masters degrees, will qualify postgraduate coursework students for the visa.

Please note that:

Bachelor degree studies of a minimum of 2 year will qualify students – but any period of diploma studies will not be counted towards the “Australian Study Requirement”, so students should be advised to take a Dipoma course that provides a maximum of one year credit towards a 3-year bachelor degree
While Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas will count towards the study requirement, they must be qualifying courses for the relevant master degree. In other words, a student cannot do a 1.5 years master degree, and then after the master take a Graduate Certificate to reach the 2 year study requirement. Such students should be counselled to take a second master degree
